The passing of His Majesty has been deeply saddening to the ISB community and the Thai nation. Along with the whole country, ISB has been mourning the loss of an exemplary leader while at the same time paying our respects to a monarch who will rightly be viewed in history as one of the greats and the true “father of the Thai nation”.
In the past weeks, to honor His Majesty, ISB held assemblies for the Elementary, Middle and High schools in the Chevron Theater. Also, ISB’s Thai Staff assembled in the theatre to pay their respects.
Thai parents have also gathered outside the foyer of the Chevron Theater to sing the King’s Anthem and observe a period of silence.
Condolence books are situated in the foyer of the Chevron Theater and numerous members of our school community have been writing very heartfelt messages. These books will later be delivered to the Royal Household Bureau.
ISB is also planning a number of other events and activities in honor of His Majesty throughout the year. We are seeking ideas and suggestions from students, parents, staff and alumni about how we can most appropriately pay our respects.
